However, juice jacking attack is not only done in mobiles but also in laptops, tablets and other devices. We already know that all these devices have limited battery backup, usually we need to charge them during travel and this is where the juice jacking attack starts, in many public places like shopping malls, cafes, Charging centers are made in places like railway stations, airports, bus stations, etc. where we charge them, through these charging centers our devices get charged but our device can also be hacked by these charging centers.

USB cable is used for charging at many charging centers and through these cables, hacking software is transferred to our mobile or other device and the data of our device is stolen by that software, Once hackers get access to our device, they can do anything in our device even they can transfer money by taking access to our bank account, this process is called juice jacking attack.

According to the organization "Alert Indian", 20% of the charging center is not safe

"Alert Indian" is an organization that conducts research on cyber security, a research in February 2021 found that 22% of charging stations installed in public places were not secure, this research was done in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and was done in Mumbai. Another research found that 33% of the free WiFi installed in public places were already hacked by hackers, these WiFi stations were transferring such malware software to mobiles and laptops through WiFi, through which their can be accessed.

How to survive from Juice Jacking Attack

1. When using the Charging Center in public places, do not use the USB cable provided in the Charging Center
2. Carry a power bank with you while traveling so that you don't have to use the charging station
3. Use the electric socket installed in the charging center with your device's charger
4. Install Antivirus software in your device which can protect our device from being hacked
